Longtime members know by now that Spring is all about greens. Kale, chard, salad mix, etc. will fill your baskets for a few more weeks before more robust crops like peas, summer squash, and fruit start to kick in. We hope you enjoy these first several weeks and all the greenery; it won’t be long before you’ll be craving these cooler-weather crops. If these are your favorites, don’t fear – they will show up again in the fall.
This week we have a few special treats: pecans from Windmill Gardens in Camp Verde and edible flowers (a CSA first!) from Whipstone Farm. The edible flowers include pansies, calendula, and bachelor’s button. We hope your enjoy them! They will make a beautiful addition to any salad.
Enjoy the week!
Meghan
