If you frequent the farmers markets, you may have noticed that fewer vendors are showing up each week. The season is beginning to wind down, and those that planted for early harvest are already finished. Fall and winter crops are being planted and soon you will be so surrounded by greens at the markets that you will be wishing for these weeks on end of tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants. So let’s enjoy them while we still can.

Wednesday marks the first day of Fall, and what better way to celebrate than some Oak Creek apples from Garland’s Oak Creek Apples. My husband and I were married at Garland’s Lodge and we stay there at the beginning of each October for our anniversary. Nothing says Autumn to me more than their apples and I am so happy to share them with you as we transition into the new season.

With only three more weeks of our CSA season (after this week), we are also beginning to plan for next year. This was our most successful season yet, and we already have 17 people on our waitlist hoping for a spot next season! If you would like to ensure your membership next year, please print and return our early bird contract, along with a $50 deposit. We will open up enrollment to the waitlist and general public on October 14th. We hope to see you all as shareholders again next year!

Happy Autumn!
Meghan
