The heat is on! It seems the time for late season frosts has finally passed, and our growers are transplanting hot weather crops into the fields. Despite the late frosts, it is shaping up to be a good season for fruit. I am so excited to have some fruit this year, as last year’s frosts wiped out all but some late-season apples. I can already taste the blackberries and peaches. They’ll be here in no time!
This week we have some delicious cabbage from Whipstone Farm. Cabbage roles, cole slaw, and sauerkraut are in your future. Flower shares begin this week, so we will all get to enjoy seeing Whipstone Farm’s beautiful bouquets at distribution for the next 12 weeks. Those of you who are signed up for flower shares are in for a treat! Whipstone also sends several bouquets to Interdependence Natural Foods in Sedona each week (along with extra veggies beyond what we receive in our shares), so if you are looking for an occasional bouquet be sure to pick one up and support this incredible local flower farm.
