Happy Labor Day! I am so grateful today for the incredible work of our local growers. Sometimes their work has a quick pay off, such as with a crop of fast-growing radishes, and in other cases it can take years of effort – think growing an entire orchard. Our local farmers are invested in the long-term health of our communities in ways that can be hard to fathom. Their work is both urgent and slow, ephemeral and permanent, and it occurs in all of the extremes and in betweens that nature has to offer. What they accomplish is woven into our every day lives and also invisible to us. By participating in this CSA you are part of a process that seeks to make their labor more visible and more appreciated. Thank you to all of our local growers!
Another basket full of peak summer produce is headed your way. We hope you are enjoying the fresh, crisp, deliciousness that all of these items bring to the table.
Have a wonderful week!
Meghan
