It doesn’t happen every year, but we are getting sweet corn this week! We are so excited for this corn from Cottonwood farmer Bob Haskell. Corn can be very difficult to grow, especially without synthetic pesticides, so we are incredibly grateful for Bob’s hard work. If you see any insect activity at the tip of the ear, just cut the end off and cook as you typically would. We have several other new crops this week as well. Butternut squash has been slowly growing all season long and curing for several weeks now, but it is finally making its way into our baskets. Bell peppers from Whipstone Farm will be delicious and beautiful since we are getting a variety of colors. Purple bush beans from Willowbrook Farm will also add to the rainbow of colors in this basket. This autumn harvest will bring cozy soups, warm roasted veggies, and crisp, fresh salads straight to your table. Enjoy!
Have a joyous week!
Meghan
