Happy Monday everyone! We had some wild weather over the weekend that cooled things off beautifully yesterday, but dumped some heavy rains at Whipstone Farm. They hadn’t had a chance to fully assess things when we set this week’s order, but hopefully all of their crops and greenhouses are in alright shape after the storm.
This week we have a wonderful, peak-summer basket full of deliciousness. Whipstone Farm is delivering our first fresh chili peppers of the season. We’ve asked for a mild variety, so these should be perfect for adding to salsas, stir fries, and roasted veggies without adding too much heat. In weeks to come we will get their roasted chilies as well, which are such a treat! Also new this week, green beans! Beans always indicate to me that we have hit the apex of summer. They are just the quintessential summer vegetable. Perfect with summer squash, tomatoes, and every other vegetable that is ripe this time of year.
