Happy Autumn! We get to enjoy the last several weeks of the growing season with perfect weather, golden fields of wildflowers, and crisp mornings. It just doesn’t get better than that! And what better way to welcome the fall than with fresh Golden Delicious apples? These apples come straight from Willowbrook Farm and I can’t decide if we will eat them all on Wednesday afternoon or if they will last long enough to make it into a pie. Arugula, onions, Italian sweet peppers, radishes, salad mix, and spaghetti squash round out this week’s basket, and the whole thing sound just like the perfect mix for the first week of Autumn.

Looking forward to the next year, we have decided to raise our prices for the 2024 season. Next year’s share price will be $650 for the season (~$30/week), up from the $625 rate we have charged for several years now. Prices for many crops increased behind the scenes this year, so we need to adjust the share rate to ensure that we can provide you with plenty of produce each week. These price increases are due to many factors – increased seed costs, increased labor costs, etc. We only raise our prices when absolutely necessary, so we hope you can understand the change. Please let me know if you have any questions.

If you plan on joining the CSA again for the 2024 season, you can now reserve your share here. Hard copies of our Early Bird Contract will also be available at CSA distribution through the end of the season. Early registration for existing shareholders will be available until November 11th. Any spots not reserved by that date will be opened up to those on our waitlist. We have a waitlist of approximately 40 people, some of whom have been waiting for well over a year for their chance to join the CSA. Please be sure to reserve your spot before the deadline to ensure you won’t end up back at the bottom of the waitlist.

Have a nice week!
Meghan
