The rain has finally arrived and what a beautiful week it was! The cooler weather was a wonderful treat and such a relief for the farmers and crops.
Denise at Willowbrook Farm has been planting corn this week for what we hope will be a delicious organic corn harvest later this season! It is so hard to find organically grown corn, so we are so excited and hopeful for a good crop. The Hopi traditionally planted corn once the monsoons started, so we’ll see if this late planting pays off.
Tomatoes are starting to come in, so brace yourselves for the coming weeks. There will be many tomatoes. If you are unable to eat them all, you can core them, put them in a ziplock bag, and store them until winter. Cherry tomatoes can be frozen as is. Just dump them in a soup or make a sauce out of them when you are ready to eat them. Let’s enjoy them while they’re here!
Just a reminder that your second payment will be due on July 20th. If you would like to make your second half payment online, you can do so here.
Happy Independence Day!
